The biggest flaws are: 1. The lack of printed manual. 2. The remote is chintzy, and isn’t lighted. My biggest Pluses are: 1. Great picture quality. 2. Good on board speakers. 3. Lots of HDMI ports. 4. Attractive appearance. One special alert: 1. My DirecTV remote didn’t list LG as a recognized TV. a.You must KNOW that LG = LUCKY GOLDSTAR in the DirecTv remote codes list. Then you can proceed to program the sat.’remote. This is really a criticism of DirecTv, not LG. Read more... (491 words, 1 image, estimated 1:58 mins reading time)

Sony BRAVIA XBR Series KDL-46XBR9 46-Inch 1080p 240Hz LCD HDTV, Black Experience powerful performance and superior design with the Sony BRAVIA XBR9 HDTV, featuring Motionflow 240Hz technology for maximum motion detail and clarity, plus broadband internet connectivity with built-in BRAVIA Internet Video1 capabilities that let you view select on-demand movies, TV shows, music and more, and even lets you personalize your entertainment experience by selecting and positioning widgets containing the latest news, weather, sports and more directly on your TV screen. Customer Review: Excellent TV but still wondering if I should have opted for LED or Plasma… I got this TV two weeks ago. As an admitted unapologetic Sony “fanboy” I had high expectations. The display is beautiful especially when viewing blu-ray’s or HD sources. However in an extremely dark scene it is evident that LCD’s still have a ways to go when it comes to contrasting blacks. I have played around with settings and even adjusted the custom setting to those recommended in CNet’s review of the TV but it still leaves much to be desired. Read more... HDMI Cable 15 ft v 1.3 1080P FOR PS3 DVD TO LCD HDTV TV Premium high quality HDMI-HDMI gold plated cable suitable for use in HDTV, Plasma, LCD, PS3, home theater, cable box, projectors and more. Compatible Model: HDTV, Plasma, LCD, PS3, DVD Players, Satellite & Cable boxes and more. Customer Review: Great Value I do not know why these HDMI cables are so cheep, but since it is a digital signal, it is as good as any other 1.3b HDMI cable on the market. You cannot beat the price for this cable, about $10 including shipping and handling is probably the cheapest you will find. Customer Review: Problems picture freezing with PS3 and LCD TV Perhaps I just had a bad cable but almost from the day it was installed I had problems with the picture freezing while playing games/watching movies on my PS3. Since I had never run an HDMI setup before, I wasn’t sure at first what was causing the problem. I thought the HDMI connection on my PS3 and/or the TV might be defective. It took a while, but after reading some other reviewer comments I came to the realization that the problem was most likely the cable. I decided on a Monster 8ft M1000HD that I got off eBay for $26 with free shipping and sure enough the problem cleared right up. Not only did the problem go away, but the picture quality itself was greatly improved (including that of my Blu-ray DVDs). Until I replaced the cable, I wasn’t impressed with HDMI and wondered what all the fuss was about. (I had been running component cables until I made the switch). I am so impressed now I am considering replacing my older Xbox 360 with a newer model that supports HDMI. Read more... (477 words, 1 image, estimated 1:54 mins reading time)

Sony Bravia M-Series KDL-32M4000 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV Want a small LCD TV that still brings a lot to the (kitchen) table? The KDL-32M4000 is Sony’s answer. With three HD connections (including an HDMI , component, and PC input), a sleek design, and the picture quality you’ve come to expect from Sony, the KDL-M4000/S is designed give you the performance you do want without turning your bedroom or kitchen into a second home theater you can live without. Customer Review: Quite Expensive TV I have two 32in TV. One from Samsung, which I bought for 350 as a used product (it’s 2 year old product). I also got Sony for $480 brand New. I was expecting some difference from Sony vs Samsung, not because of the Brand, but because of the relatively newer technology from Sony. After having played with picture setting, I still liked Samsung better. Also, for some reason, Samsung screen feels bigger as well. I’m not saying Sony has bad picture, but if you can get a decent price for older LCD, you are not going to find much difference as long as you are getting one from one of these name brands. I use the TV for signals from PS3 and Cable as well as signals off the air. Customer Review: Not perfect, but I couldn’t give 4.5 stars Bought this primarily for watching HD movies and playing HD games via Xbox 360. I knew that there would be a bit of lag with it, but I had judged it to be negligible from my experiences with an LG 32″ I had. Wasn’t a good judging stick. The LG blows away the Bravia in this sense, in all others though, the Bravia comes out on top. Great picture, good color depth, nice and bright when I need it, and HD movies come out crisp and clear. However, the dark side to LCD technology is the lag that shows up when playing fast moving games. The good news, is that for a 32″ LCD, it’s actually not too bad. Right around 42ms. That can have serious consequences in an FPS style game, but once you get used to it, the lag basically disappears from your brain. Overall a great tv, well worth what I paid for it. Read more... Customer Review: Nice TV, but major clouding issues I purchased one from Amazon back in February and in general I was happy with it, but it had pretty serious clouding problems. In retrospect, I wish I would have just returned it right away within Amazon’s 30 day return period. However, after more than a month of being distracted by the huge white clouds on the screen, I decided to put in a service request with Samsung. The Samsung Techs came to my house and replaced the TV panel, and unfortunately the new panel had even worse clouding than the original. I admit I’m somewhat picky, but the clouding was VERY noticeable and distracting. And my thinking is that for thousands of dollars, I should be getting what I paid for. After weeks and weeks of calling the Service Techs and Samsung, they finally offered to exchange my A850 for the B750. I just received the newer model this past weekend, and the difference is night and day. The B750 has virtually no clouding whatsoever and about the same quality picture as the A850. The B750 is a bit thicker than the A850, but just as attractive in my opinion. Read more... (916 words, 6 images, estimated 3:40 mins reading time)

Customer Review: Brandywine This TV is the second try on purchasing a 19″ TV. The picture is clear & sharp and the sound is acceptable. The first one (Sanyo) the sound drove me crazy, very tinny. There is a menu option that gives us several choices on the clarity of the screen. We do not have HDTV access. AB Read more... (375 words, 6 images, estimated 1:30 mins reading time)

LG 32LH30 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, Gloss Black 32″ LCD TV FULL HD 1080p (1920 x 1080p) resolution, 50,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, ATSC/NTSC/Clearn QAM – 1 Tuner, XD Engine, 178 True Wide Viewing Angle, SRS TruSurround XT, Invisible Speakers, Dolby Digital 5.1 Decoder, 3 HDMI, USB 2.0, includes swivel stand Customer Review: Excellent Economy HDTV The LG 32LH30 32-Inch 1080p replaced a 720p 32 inch Samsung which I returned because of erratic sound quality. The LG provides a very clear picture for upscaled DVD movies and over the air digital signals. The speakers provide excellent sound for a small living room although the addition of a home theater system would substantially increase movie enjoyment. Standard definition signals also reproduce a stable clear picture. Colors are very good and the set provides sufficient tools to tweak the picture for personal preference. I have not used it for bluray as yet but HD from satellite is very good. The features of this unit described on the Amazon specifications list accurately describe its features and can be relied upon. I am not a hard core cinema/video buff but I cannot imagine that this unit will not satisfy most viewers who want a well priced midsized flat screen high definition TV. My five stars are based upon what I expect in similarly designed and priced units for a smaller room. Customer Review: Making a case for LG; amazing tv. LG does’nt get enough praise. Read more...
