Customer Review: Excellent Economy HDTV
The LG 32LH30 32-Inch 1080p replaced a 720p 32 inch Samsung which I returned because of erratic sound quality. The LG provides a very clear picture for upscaled DVD movies and over the air digital signals. The speakers provide excellent sound for a small living room although the addition of a home theater system would substantially increase movie enjoyment. Standard definition signals also reproduce a stable clear picture. Colors are very good and the set provides sufficient tools to tweak the picture for personal preference. I have not used it for bluray as yet but HD from satellite is very good. The features of this unit described on the Amazon specifications list accurately describe its features and can be relied upon. I am not a hard core cinema/video buff but I cannot imagine that this unit will not satisfy most viewers who want a well priced midsized flat screen high definition TV. My five stars are based upon what I expect in similarly designed and priced units for a smaller room.

This item came well packaged and required no assembly. Item was received within 2 days and was fairly easy to install. It took a little more force to get it to snap into the side of the tv than I thought it would but it was still easy.
The picture is as good now as when the tv was new.

As always Amazon has competitive pricing at $159.00 + shipping around $7.00. Compare to Sony store at $199.99 + additional fee. Item arrive earlier than original ETA date. I bought the LG-42LG30 about one month before Christmas last year, as the price dropped below $750. I use a Radio Shack antenna on the roof (80 inch VHF/UHF model) and the antenna signal goes through a splitter so I get FM radio signal for the receiver, a converter box for an old VCR, and the TV. After checking out the “antennaweb” site, I aimed my antenna as per the location of the broadcast towers, and I get ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, and three public stations including the high-def ones. There is a hum in the background of the audio. Not noticable when a signal is being transmitted but really noticeable between signals. Also, I believe this TV was used not new as reported. The outside of the box was worn and tattered. On the inside of the box, the styrofoam was broken up that usually occurs during unpacking the first time.

Very good value. If you hear a faint buzzing noise when you first purchase this do not worry. The noise is quickly and easily fixed by changing a setting. I googled and found many people complaining about it and then found a troubleshooting tip and it fixed it.
