This remote was pratically the same, but it’s missing the VCR/DVD/Cable signals. I was highly disappointed in that because now I have to switch between my cable remote and my TV remote frequently. I love the picture quality and the clarity is amazing. However, when I switch it off each night on the power strip and then flip it back on, it wants me to program it (language, etc.). I’m trying to avoid the dreaded “phantom load” – where consumer electronics suck electricity even when they’re powered off. It was more expensive than other other TVs as well – but definitely worth it. Customer Review: Great image, great sound I’ve had this TV for around two months and it is a monster — in a good way. Picture quality, be it standard or HD, is superlative, as is the sound (my other LCD, a Samsung Series 6 32″, on the other hand, has poor sound quality). Out of the box, manual in hand, I made some quick, minor adjustments and got just the picture I wanted. Colors are realistic (but can be toned up or down, depending on personal taste), contrast is perfect, blacks are really black. I thought I’d have trouble watching sports such as tennis — small ball, lots of confusing color and superquick movement –, but there was none. The action is always smooth and crisp, even when I’m not as far away from the TV as I should be. HD picture is superb, to say the least. So lifelike I almost forget I’m looking at a screen. Very clean and sharp image quality. We like the sound quality as well. We have this television connected to a DVD player and our cable box and haven’t had any issues. When we purchase our next television we’ll buy from LG. The only complaint I have is we purchased it at a best buy and it is cheaper here at Amazon. Customer Review: Sound good, Picture good. Too bad no sync. We bought this unit bec we saw it in the store and the picture was outstandingly beautiful. What we could not have known was that there would be an extremely annoying mismatch of picture and audio in the HD mode using our Comcast Motorola HD cable box. After realizing this problem, we Googled it and found multiple, similar complaints. Then we used the Contact Us feature in the LG website, and a tech offered to send us a firmware update. We declined bec we knew from other complaints found in Google that the LG “fix” — a firmware update they offered — did not help. Plus, it would take a few weeks to arrive. That would put us beyond the return deadline. So we returned the unit and paid $100 more for a 26″ Sony Bravia 5000 which we love and does not seem to have this problem.
